Delete Your Account & Data

Account & data deletion for Ledger (ledgerpro.ai), operated by Jumpstone Technology Inc.

In plain language: you can ask us to delete your Ledger account and personal data at any time. Below is exactly how to request it, what we delete and when, and the small set of financial records we are legally required to keep before they too are deleted.

1. How to request account deletion

To delete your Ledger account and the personal data associated with it, send us an email:

  1. Email [email protected] from the email address associated with your account.
  2. Use the subject line “Account deletion request”.
  3. That’s it. We use the sending address to verify the request belongs to you, then begin the deletion process described below. If you write from a different address, we may ask you to verify ownership of the account before we proceed.

An in-app self-service option (Profile → Delete account) is rolling out and will let you start the same process directly from inside Ledger. Until it reaches your account, the email route above is the fastest way to have your data deleted.

2. What happens when you request deletion

In plain language: your personal identifiers are wiped immediately and you’re logged out everywhere. The account then enters a 30-day window where it can still be restored, after which it is fully removed on an automated schedule.

We process deletion in stages so that an accidental request can still be reversed, while your identifying information is removed straight away:

  • Immediately on request: your personal data is anonymized — your email address and name are blanked, and your login credentials and any TOTP (authenticator-app) two-factor secret are removed.
  • Immediately on request: all of your active sessions are revoked (you are signed out on every device), and your password-reset tokens and stored login-event history are permanently hard-deleted.
  • 30-day recoverable grace period: the account then enters a recoverable state for 30 days. During this window you can contact us to restore the account.
  • After the grace period: the account is soft-deleted (marked deleted and removed from all normal use).
  • After 90 days: an automated job that runs daily permanently deletes the account record itself.

3. What we retain, and why

Be aware: Ledger is accounting software. Tax law requires us to keep certain financial records for several years even after you ask us to delete your account. We are upfront about exactly what stays and for how long.

We delete everything we can, but a limited set of records is retained for the period the law requires, then deleted automatically:

  • Accounting and financial records: retained for 7 years in a restricted archive (access limited to what is needed to meet our legal obligations), to comply with tax-record-keeping law — including the Canada Income Tax Act and the Sri Lanka Inland Revenue Act. After the retention period expires, these records are deleted.
  • Application and access logs: retained for approximately 90 days for security monitoring and incident investigation, then automatically deleted.
  • Email logs: delivery records are retained for approximately 30 days, then deleted.
  • Backups: encrypted backups age out on a rolling basis of approximately 35 days. A deleted account may persist in a backup until that backup naturally expires, after which it is gone.

4. Your rights & more detail

Deletion is one of several rights you have over your personal data. You can also request access to, correction of, or a portable export of your data. For the full picture — including the legal bases we rely on, retention schedules, and how to lodge a complaint — see the “Your Rights” section of our Privacy Policy.
